Where Rainbows End is a story told through letters,
emails and instant messaging about the ever changing
relationship between the two main characters Rosie
Dunne and Alex Stewart. Rosie and Alex are close
friends from childhood but one day they are suddenly
separated when Alex and his family move from Dublin
to Boston. The book guides us through their
relationship as it continues to change due to distance,
new relationships and circumstances which seem
determined to keep them apart. One question remains
throughout the book, were they always meant to be
more than friends and will they risk everything
including their friendship on love?
MY REVIEW:
The moment I finished watching the film “Love, Rosie” based on this novel “Where Rainbows End” I know that I badly need to read the book too, because if I’m not I will miss out a lot of things on my entire existence.
I can’t stop reading this novel. I can’t put it down. The moment I started reading it, all I wanted for my life for the next few hours is to finished it and know everything there is to discover.
This may sound I am just making things up, but this is one of the best love story I’ve ever read!!! My favorite as of the moment and for the next few months or years perhaps! (Until I found a new one to be tortured by my love and I guess that will be not so soon).
I love everything in this book. I have no complaints.
I like how the story have been presented and expressed. It is a collection of letters, greeting cards, e-mails, chat conversations, news paper clippings, faxes, invitations and scribbled notes that were arranged on chronological order to make a great novel worth for keeps.
You will get a sliver of every character’s minds and feelings because of the letters they’ve sent to each other. It will make you appreciate your life, family, friends (especially best-friends), and even those people you’ve known for a while but not like so much. Who knows one of them are nice too? It tells you to reach for your dreams no matter what age, time, season and circumstances you might having. Life seems unfair and tough to everyone but it is always true that things happen for a reason. We should never stop chasing rainbows, those dreams we have always planned out on our minds since we were little.
I hate spoiling the story for you, but you will surely get this feeling that you badly want Rosie and Alex to be together like a perfect couple because you know from the very beginning that they’re soul mates. You will hate how they always hold back their feelings to each other. It might kill you that all this time neither of them can’t say a word to their real feelings. The catch is you just couldn’t point out when and how it will finally happen. But knowing that life has always its weird play on people’s fate so sometimes you got doubts on your hunches, too.
It is a kind of book you want to share to everyone to gape at on its magical and majestic contents. I, myself know I can’t live forever inside the world of Rosie, Alex and everyone else but I will definitely miss them all. I am missing them now already and I’ve been away just an hour ago!
And now that I’m done reading it I feel lost and I don’t know what to do next with my not-so-awesome life again. Ooops, don’t get me wrong I’m really inspired to their story. It’s just so awesome it has no match to my real life. I will surely reread this book, next year perhaps after my book hangover wears off!
